Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Industrial (m/w/d)

At our Munich site, we develop and manufacture highly load-bearing as well as extremely lightweight structures made from fiber-reinforced composite materials for the aerospace industry. Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Industrial (m/w/d)

General Requirements

• Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring compliance with the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
• Technical expertise at a local project level in governance and deployment of manufacturing development and integration for production within GKN Aerospace.
• Provides technical expertise to rapidly solve issues pertaining to vendor schedule and/or quality.
• Breaks down technical problems, risk, opportunities, in the correct order to create products and add value to GKN Aerospace through creating Zero Defects
• Leads positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers
• Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives.

Specific Requirements

• Implement the global process for product development, first article development, configuration changes, build process definition and implementation.
• Implement the global business process for materials & process methods, from original concept through to production
• Deploy these processes with a high degree of process capability utilizing the GKN standard Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) tool suite to demonstrate as such.
• Responsible for technical support of manufacturing development and integration for production. Resolve issues pertaining to vendor quality.
• Provide specialist knowledge to production activities with the ultimate goal of improving efficiency, product quality and the reduction of non-conforming parts.
• Implement the global business process for industrial layout solutions, from original concept through to production. Design these processes implementing lean tools and methods in accordance with the GKN standard lean tool suite.
• Accountable for new product quotes and manufacturing system change proposals
• Manage industrialization projects, leading both internal and external (vendor) resources

Profil requirement

• Technical expertise in Manufacturing Engineering, with a professional qualification / background (university degree) in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical)
• At least 5 years of professional experience as a Manufacturing or Industrial Engineer, preferably in the aerospace industry.
• Experience with APQP, Problem Solving tools and Lean Manufacturing.
• Experience in factory planning and industrialization projects is desirable.
• Experience in project management and stakeholder management.
• Experience of coating and painting of CFRP and GFRP parts is a plus.
• Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., EN9100, ISO9001).
• Strong analytical skills, structured working approach, and high problem-solving competence.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in interdisciplinary project teams.
• Professional proficiency in German and English language
