Job Description

ECS is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for Europe in Stuttgart, Germany. This position is contingent upon contract award. The Senior Network Engineer for Europe supports the medical mission of the DoD and ensures that the highly complex and technical requirements related to the infrastructure are addressed. They identify and resolve larger, more complex LAN/WLAN/WAN network problems, research network-level problems using network management tools, and are responsible for providing high-level installation, configuration, documentation, management, and troubleshooting of LAN/WLAN/WAN communication equipment for all DHA networked facilities within the Pacific Region.

Summary

The Senior Network Engineer for Europe serves as the regional point of contact for network issues, configuration management, and communications interconnection, addressing multi-protocol routing and network management. They advise and consult with government staff, agencies, and other contractor representatives involved with LAN/WLAN/WAN design, deployment, and management to ensure adequate support for the MHS mission and optimal performance. They interface with and lead Network Specialists and internal or external organizations to resolve LAN/WAN issues.

Responsibilities

• Resolve technical issues related to network and routing protocols across OSI layers using diagnostics and network administration tools (e.g., Orion SolarWinds, ARMIS, Ansible).
• Install, configure, document, manage, and troubleshoot LAN/WLAN/WAN equipment for DHA networked facilities.
• Serve as the regional point of contact for network issues, configuration management, and interconnection, including multi-protocol routing and network management.
• Advise and consult with government staff, agencies, and contractor representatives to ensure LAN/WLAN/WAN support for the MHS mission and optimal performance.
• Lead network standards development, documentation, and implementation of LAN/WLAN/WAN procedures to ensure compliance with DoD, DHA, and DHA European Regional Command objectives and policies.
• Establish and implement security for LAN/WLAN/WAN, including configuration of firewalls, VPN devices, and IDSs.
• Provide written recommendations and updates to network operations and standards; coordinate with the NetMOD Network Standards Team.
• Study vendor products to determine components and configurations that meet DoD and MTF requirements in Europe.
• Communicate with key customers on the status of all network support requests.
• Continuously evaluate and resolve complex technical issues related to OSI-layer networking and routing protocols; contribute to policy development and standardization.

Qualifications

• Secret Clearance is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a technical field, or related discipline, plus five years of related experience; or completion of a certified technical/vocational program with 10 years of related experience.
• Compliance with DoD Directive and ; must have and maintain certification(s) compliant with the Network Operations Specialist Advanced level per DoD 8140.
• Ability to travel to any site covered by the contract.
• Advanced understanding of networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, routing protocols, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.); experience with DoD networking standards and tools (e.g., Orion SolarWinds).
• Experience with Windows networks, Cisco systems, and SolarWinds; CCNP and CISSP certifications are required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a broad audience, including government officials and technical personnel, both verbally and in writing.

Desired Skills

• Experience with Zero Trust Architectures and Methodologies is desired.
