Senior Physical Design Application Engineer

Our client is looking for a Senior Physical Implementation Application Engineer to join their team supporting some of the most advanced semiconductor design projects in the world. In this role, you will be at the forefront of digital and physical design innovation, working directly with leading design teams to solve complex challenges in synthesis, low‑power optimisation, and verification.

You will influence design outcomes, guide engineers on best practices, and provide hands‑on solutions that make a real difference in high‑performance, cutting‑edge projects. Your work will help shape design methodologies, optimise results, and accelerate time‑to‑market for world‑class products.

As a Senior Physical Implementation Application Engineer, you will also collaborate with R&D to feed real‑world insights into tool development, giving you exposure to next‑generation methodologies and the chance to have a tangible impact on future technology.

Skills And Experience

• Strong background in digital and physical design implementation within the semiconductor industry
• Hands‑on experience with synthesis, verification, and low‑power methodologies
• Proficiency with hardware description languages such as SystemVerilog or VHDL
• Comfortable in UNIX/Linux environments with scripting experience (TCL, Python, or similar)
• Experience troubleshooting complex design issues and optimising flows for timing, power, and area
• Ability to collaborate with internal teams and customer engineers, providing guidance and practical solutions
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and analytical skills
