Senior Principal Engineer (m/f/x) – Renewables

Your position

As our Senior Principal Engineer in Renewables, you will be a top-tier technical leader and company-wide technical authority, acting as a trusted sparring partner to our CTO, Service and signing off major technical solutions and processes across the Service Technilogy area. You will define long-term technical strategy, architecture and standards, while bridging executive vision with engineering execution.

Your Tasks & Responsibilities

• Technical vision and architecture: define long-term technical direction, architecture and standards for key products/systems aligned with business goals
• Technical governance and decision‑making: guide major technical trade‑offs, evaluate new technologies and approaches, and sign off critical solutions
• Deep expertise and escalation: act as the final escalation point for the most challenging technical issues; oversee high‑level system design and critical technology choices
• Leadership and mentorship: coach senior engineers and teams, lead by example in technical excellence, and raise the bar across engineering
• Cross‑functional influence: collaborate with operations, product, engineering and executive stakeholders; engage with customers and external partners where needed
• Process, quality and HSE: drive best practices, perform critical design and HSE reviews, and strengthen quality and continuous improvement
• Risk management: identify and mitigate large‑scale technical risks, ensuring platform stability, performance, and scalability

Your Profile & Qualifications

We are looking for a dedicated, proactive and responsible technical leader with strong collaboration and communication skills and an analytical, accountable mindset.

• a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Engineering
• 10+ years of relevant experience (wind turbines or similar products within renewables)
• deep expertise within a broad technical domain (e.g., mechanical systems, WTG, grid) and the ability to translate complexity into clear decisions
• proven experience influencing senior stakeholders and driving technical direction across multiple teams and interfaces
• fluency in English (spoken and written); Danish and German skills would be preferred but not limiting for this role
• willingness to travel internationally as required (approx. 60 days/year)
