We are looking for a full-time , permanent (Senior) QA Engineer to start as soon as possible . We live remote-first, but you have the freedom to choose whether you want to work hybrid or completely on-site due to your proximity to one of our locations.

As a (Senior) QA Engineer at Contabo Group, you will be instrumental in driving product quality and delivering excellence across our offerings.

In your first phase, you will actively support our team at GPORTAL. You’ll get hands‑on quickly. Soon you’ll testing features, improving test coverage, helping stabilize releases and supporting the team wherever quality expertise is needed most. This is about rolling up your sleeves, understanding the product in detail and becoming a reliable sparring partner for developers and Product Owners.

At the same time, you’ll gradually build a deep understanding of our systems, interfaces and internal processes. As you grow into the role, you will start connecting the dots between GPORTAL and Contabo. You’ll identify dependencies, align quality standards and support cross‑team collaboration on a broader level.

From the start, you review product requirements and user stories before development begins, ask the right questions and ensure features are testable and clearly defined. You design and execute functional, regression, exploratory and UAT tests with a strong sense of ownership and business impact.

Automation is an important part of your work. You help build and maintain automated UI, API and integration tests and contribute to improving our continuous testing setup to make releases more stable and predictable.

When issues occur, you look beyond the obvious. You analyze root causes, document defects clearly and reproducibly and work closely with developers to resolve them efficiently. You prioritize based on impact and always keep the bigger picture in mind.

Over time, your role evolves from hands‑on contributor at GPORTAL to a key driver of quality collaboration across teams and brands. In this way you will help to ensure that quality is consistently embedded in everything we build at Contabo Group.

What convinces us

2-5 years of experience in Software Testing/QA, ideally in agile environments or in the hosting industry
Strong hands‑on experience in test automation with Python and JavaScript/TypeScript
Solid experience with modern testing frameworks (e.g. Playwright, Pytest) and a strong understanding of test design, test strategies and QA processes
Experience in API testing (REST / GraphQL) and practical experience with exploratory and regression testing
Confident with Git and common bug‑tracking tools
Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into structured test cases and test plans
Familiar with web technologies (HTML/CSS, Browser DevTools) and experience supporting UAT and collaborating with stakeholders
Ability to prioritize multiple testing streams and work independently
Nice to have: experience with performance or integration testing and further development of QA processes
