The role We are looking for a quality-driven Senior QA Engineer (m/f/d) to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will take ownership of ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through strategic test planning, automation, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will play a key role in embedding quality early in the development lifecycle and continuously improving our QA processes and tool landscape. This is a fixed-term position for two years to cover parental leave. Responsibilities: Proactively identify opportunities to improve our QA processes and drive their implementation across teams Evaluate and pilot new tools and technologies in the field of test automation, bringing fresh ideas and innovation into the team Collaborate closely with DevOps, development, and product management to embed quality early in the development process Design and implement strategies for end-to-end, API, and performance testing to ensure comprehensive coverage Analyze test metrics and derive actionable measures to continuously improve product quality Document test processes and actively share knowledge and best practices within the QA and engineering teams What we are looking for Minimum 8 years of professional experience in software quality assurance Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript plus experience with Selenium, or similar for both UI and API testing Familiarity with Swagger for API documentation and test preparation Experience with CI/CD environments (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins) Understanding of agile development processes (Scrum, Kanban) Strong analytical and systematic thinking skills Ability to work effectively in fully remote teams – proactive communication and coordination Experience with test strategies such as regression testing, exploratory testing, and smoke testing Professional-level English proficiency (written and spoken) Interest in and initial hands-on experience with AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, AI-assisted test generation) Nice to have: Experience with performance and load testing (e.g., k6, JMeter) Experience with security and penetration testing Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) Experience with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr) Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Grafana, ELK Stack) Why Xempus Join one of the leading insurtechs in Europe as it enters its next growth phase Chance to participate in one of the most generous employee stock option programs in the industry Very attractive contribution to the company pension scheme Corporate health insurance (600€ reimbursement of various medical and pharmacy costs per year) Find creative freedom and quick decision-making structures in a dynamic, innovative environment Work with a team of amazing colleagues with great team spirit (company parties, charity events e.g.) Have the option of hybrid working - for family friendliness and maximum flexibility in your everyday life.
