Senior Regulatory Expert

The Company is the independent operator of both the natural gas transmission grid and storage infrastructure in Belgium. Driven by its first-mover approach, The Company has developed its infrastructure into the veritable crossroads for international gas flows in Western Europe. The management of the German part of the assets is guaranteed from the office in Dusseldorf. To guarantee the continuity of local activities in Germany, they are looking for an experienced Regulatory Expert in German Regulatory Gas market. This is an exciting career opportunity for an experienced German regulatory expert who will advise the management in all regulatory matters with regard to the operation of a German TSO who will represent The Company towards the BNetzA (Bundes Netz Agentur) and German energy organisations.

Job Description

• Advise the management in all regulatory matters with regard to the operation of a German TSO (Transmission System Operator).
• Responsible for preparing and filing the revenue cap and tariff application towards the BNetzA (scenario analysis, determining the revenue cap and providing a supportive argumentation) based on input from and in close cooperation with the financial/commercial department.
• Manage the efficiency benchmarking process (including a scenario analysis).
• Manage the filing of investment budgets.
• Manage the interfaces with, prepare all the necessary documentation to the BNetzA and represent the company in BNetzA meetings.
• Responsible for the monitoring of all regulatory developments in Germany, for analyzing these developments in the European context and for deriving recommendations to the management for these developments.
• Represent the company in regulatory working group meetings of German energy organisations.
• Cooperate closely with the financial department and the Legal Manager.
• This role reports into the Managing Director of the company.

Qualifications

• Master degree in Business Administration or Economics and a minimum of 5 years of work experience in German regulation – preferable in the gas sector (extensive knowledge of regulation system and processes).
• Must have excellent analytical and communication as well as sound negotiation skills.
• High capability for interdisciplinary team work.
• Must take initiative and feel a high sense of personal responsibility.
• Excellent knowledge of German and English is essential.
