Senior Research Scientist - Packaging Development

At Elanco, we are currently hiring a Senior Packaging Engineer, Drug Product Development (m/w/d) at Elanco in Monheim (hybrid). ✨

In this role, you’ll drive packaging development for pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and vaccine products—working cross-functionally with global teams.

• Own end-to-end packaging development for assigned projects (primary, secondary, tertiary)
• Act as the packaging Subject Matter Expert within global project teams
• Partner with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory to ensure robust and compliant solutions
• Plan and execute packaging tests, analyze results, and support registration activities
• Evaluate innovative materials, technologies, and suppliers

What we’re looking for:

• Master’s degree in Packaging Technology (or related field) with 5+ years of experience
• Background in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical product development
• Knowledge of sterile/parenteral packaging and GMP environments
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate globally
• Fluency in German and English
