Senior Robotics Software Engineer - ROS 2 / Middleware / Perception

Stealth Humanoid Robotics Build

I’m hiring for a new European humanoid robotics company operating in stealth, now building out its core team in Munich.

This is an early senior hire on a serious humanoid platform, focused on building systems that work reliably in the real world, not just in controlled lab environments. The company is approaching the challenge full stack, with AI, control systems and hardware designed together from the ground up.

This role can lean in one of two directions, depending on your background:

1) Middleware / Communications

• Own the ROS 2 middleware and communications layer across the wider robot stack.
• Think DDS, QoS, timing, jitter, observability, profiling, real‑time Linux and deployed hardware.

2) Perception / Navigation

• Help shape how the robot sees, understands and moves through the world.
• Think planners, controllers, costmaps, 3D world models, sensor fusion, behaviour systems and real‑world deployment.

What they are looking for

• Strong experience in robotics software, autonomous systems, embedded systems or distributed real‑time systems
• Strong hands‑on ROS 2 experience
• Strong C++ and Python
• Experience working with real hardware, not just simulation
• Engineers who care about reliability, clean system design and production‑ready robotics
