Senior Simulation Engineer – Aerospace System

Your Tasks

• Lead the modeling and simulation of hybrid and electric propulsion systems using a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodology
• Define and develop system architecture sizing models using Python to establish the foundational framework
• Improve and further develop the simulation methodology and tools landscape to ensure a robust and efficient workflow
• Lead the development of a modular simulation platform at the drive system level, ensuring seamless interaction with other systems (e.g. flight mechanics, controls and communication)
• Develop and integrate simulation models for subsystem-level analyses (e.g. eMotor, MCU, batteries, thermal management system), including in-house and supplier models and creation of surrogate models
• Create and maintain subsystem modules in MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape
• Conduct testing and validation of simulation platforms using real-world test data
• Perform validation and verification (V&V) of simulation models to ensure accuracy and reliability
• Ensure complete documentation of model validation activities

Your Profile

• Master’s degree or Diploma in Physics, Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
• At least 3 years of experience in engineering
• Proven experience in modeling and simulation (mandatory)
• Knowledge of aircraft propulsion systems is an advantage
• Knowledge of fuel cell systems is mandatory
• Experience with electric motors and batteries is an advantage
• Advanced specialist knowledge in Python and MATLAB
• Experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB Simulink/Simscape, Amesim, CFTurbo and STAR-CCM+ is desirable
• Fluent English (negotiation level); German, French and Spanish are a plus
