The Role

We are currently collaborating with a well-established IT consultancy that specialises in building complex, business-critical software systems.

For a long‑term client project, they are looking for an experienced QA Engineer / Software Tester to take a hands‑on role in shaping quality across a technically demanding platform.

You’ll be joining a multi‑team agile environment where quality is a key focus area , with real opportunity to improve structures, introduce automation, and drive long‑term impact.

What You’ll Be Working On

• A complex, high‑impact software system critical to business operations
• A collaborative setup with multiple Scrum teams (approx. 40 engineers)
• A QA environment with strong potential for automation and process improvement

Key Responsibilities

• Hands‑on testing in an agile environment (manual & automated)
• Development and enhancement of test automation frameworks
• Contributing to a scalable testing strategy and QA architecture
• Testing REST APIs and distributed systems
• Integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Analysing requirements from a quality perspective and defining test cases
• Close collaboration with developers and product owners
• Continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and standards

Your Profile

• Several years of experience in software testing within agile environments
• Strong hands‑on mindset with the ability to think strategically
• Solid understanding of testing methodologies (test pyramid, risk‑based testing)
• Experience with test automation tools (Cucumber, Karate, Playwright or similar)
• Experience with API testing (REST)
• Familiarity with test management tools (e.g. xRay or similar)
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Ideally experience within Java / Spring Boot environments
• Strong communication skills and structured working approach

Nice to Have

• Experience with mocking / stubbing tools (e.g. WireMock)
• Exposure to cloud environments
• Basic SQL and database knowledge
