(Senior) Tax Manager – VAT & Corporate Tax (f/m/x)

Your mission

As (Senior) Tax Manager, you take ownership of all VAT‑related matters within IONITY and gradually expand your responsibility into corporate income tax topics. You act as a strategic tax business partner in internal projects, ensuring tax‑efficient structures and full compliance across jurisdictions.

• Act as tax sparring partner for internal departments (e.g. Finance, IT, Operations, Legal)
• Support and shape internal projects from a tax perspective (e.g. new business models, system implementations, international expansion)
• Ensure tax compliance and optimal tax structuring in cross‑functional initiatives
• Coordinate and supervise the local tax advisors
• Ensure high quality standards in tax reporting and compliance
• Drive optimization and automation of tax and accounting processes
• Contribute to strengthening the internal tax control framework
• Take full responsibility for all VAT‑related matters across IONITY and its branches
• Oversee VAT reporting obligations such as Intrastat, SAF- T and other local reporting requirements
• Monitor VAT risks and proactively identify optimization opportunities
• Act as main contact person for VAT audits and tax authorities
• Review and coordinate CIT returns prepared by external advisors
• Contribute to tax compliance processes and documentation
• Support transfer pricing topics where relevant

Your profile

• Degree in Business Administration with focus on Accounting, Tax or Audit; certified tax advisor or master’s degree in taxation is a strong plus
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in tax & accounting, ideally in an international corporate environment or a tax/audit firm
• Transfer Pricing knowledge is beneficial
• Confident user of MS Office (especially Excel); SAP experience (ideally S/4HANA Public Cloud) is an advantage
• Structured, hands‑on and solution‑oriented working style
• Strong communication skills and ability to act as business partner across departments
• Comfortable working in an international environment and communicating fluently in English and German
