Who will you join?

Within Allianz SE, Group Risk (GR) is in charge of managing risks to bolster Allianz's financial strength and to support value-focused company leadership. As such Group Risk is responsible for monitoring, managing and reporting on the Group's overall risk profile. In this context, the Independent Validation Unit is the central global validation function, responsible for independently validating internal models across many risk types in the context of Solvency II.

Role Overview

In your role as a validator you support the Independent Validation Unit team with validating models and coordinating the group‑wide major model change process with our Operating entities within Enterprise Risk, Governance & Control department at Allianz SE. You will also support the communication to supervisory authorities.

How can you make an impact?

• Validate Property & Casualty (P/C) Underwriting Risk models
• Present validation results to senior management and provide actionable improvement recommendations
• Manage the model change process in close collaboration with senior management and supervisory authorities
• Maintain strong communication with model owners and internal model entities across the globe
• Engage directly with the supervisory authority, BaFin

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
• Actuarial qualification (or equivalent)
• Several years of professional experience in risk modeling within the context of Solvency II (insurance) or Basel II/III (banking), specifically in the Property & Casualty Risk area
• Fluent in English; German proficiency is a strong advantage
• Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and statistical analysis tools/programming languages (e.g., R, Python)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong technical expertise and analytical capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in additional languages is a plus
• Interest or experience in other risk modeling areas (e.g., Operational Risk or Tax) is an advantage
• Previous experience in insurance or asset management business functions, consulting, digital/tech is a plus
• Experience applying ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Ethical AI solutions
