Senior WordPress Web Designer & Developer

Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior WordPress Web Designer & Developer with at least 4 years of experience working with Elementor, Gutenberg, and WordPress. The ideal candidate thrives in a remote team environment, communicates clearly, and takes pride in delivering high-quality, pixel-perfect websites. You will work closely with our Web Manager and team members to design, develop, and optimize client websites from start to finish. Job Highlights:Contract: Independent ContractorMonthly Rate: USD 2125Work Schedule: Remote, flexible schedule (40 hours/week), overlapping with MST hoursWork Arrangement: Permanent work-from-homeImmediate Start Key Responsibilities:Build and launch new WordPress websites on Kinsta, including installing plugins, configuring themes, designing wireframes, and setting up layouts.Use Elementor Pro and Gutenberg blocks to design templates, headers, footers, and site pages.Optimize websites for mobile responsiveness, speed, and overall performance.Apply minor CSS and PHP customizations as needed.Troubleshoot technical issues with plugins, themes, or custom functionalities.Make multiple small tweaks and updates to client websites until design and functionality are perfect.Create and implement container layouts and template options for future projects.Follow written creative direction or examples from other websites to produce cohesive and visually appealing designs.Record Loom videos for walkthroughs or technical explanations for internal teams or clients.Maintain organization by tracking tasks in Basecamp and providing daily progress reports.Collaborate with the Web Manager to meet deadlines and ensure client satisfaction. Daily Task Examples:Create landing pages for client locations and fill content using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT).Set up new websites on Kinsta, including plugins, headers, footers, and homepage layouts.Update content or images on existing pages.Mobile-optimize websites, ensuring pixel-perfect accuracy across devices.Identify and fix broken links or images.Add custom functionality, such as product custom post types with filters on the front end. Requirements:Minimum 4 years of experience with WordPress, Elementor Pro, and Gutenberg.Fluent English skills; slight accent acceptable.Detail-oriented and committed to high-quality work.Experience with Elementor templates, global containers, and basic CSS/PHP.Knowledge of website speed and performance optimization.Comfortable creating and sharing Loom videos for walkthroughs or explanations.Strong ability to follow creative direction and replicate clean, cohesive designs.Effective communication with team members and, when necessary, clients.
