Service Enablement Team Engineering Lead (m/f/d)

Our Services Enablement Team builds and operates shared infrastructure, developer tooling, and foundational services that power product teams. Think things like a Service Registry, Terraform Modules, AWS Infrastructure, and full-stack applications that enable service subscription and payment.

As an Engineering Lead in this team, you’ll balance people leadership with technical direction , helping the team deliver reliable, secure, and scalable systems on AWS using Terraform, with strong observability via Datadog and healthy engineering workflows in GitHub.

No matter where you work, you are an integral part of the team. Therefore, we are looking for an Engineering Lead (m/f/d) for our Service Enablement Team throughout Germany/Europe !

Lead & develop the team: hiring, coaching, feedback, mentoring, and career growth.

Own delivery & direction: plan and guide work across gRPC/REST APIs, background jobs, data pipelines, reusable infrastructure components

Reliability at scale: improve performance and resilience for high-traffic services and workflows built on Redis/MySQL/SQS.

Engineering excellence: establish standards for quality, testing, security, and observability; improve GitHub workflows (PR quality, CI, automation).

Operational excellence: incident response, postmortems, SLOs/SLIs, and pragmatic on-call health improvements.

Partner effectively by collaborating with Product, Security, and other Engineering teams to align roadmaps and ensure smooth and safe deployments.

Communicate clearly: keep stakeholders aligned on progress, risks, trade-offs, and outcomes.

This is what you’ll bring to the table:

Previous hands-on experience working as a DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, SRE, or System Administrator.

5+ years of experience leading Engineering teams , preferably Platform Engineering/Cloud teams

Solid experience with AWS, Terraform, Datadog , and modern CI/CD practices in GitHub.

Strong system design across distributed services, APIs, data stores, and async processing.

Hands-on familiarity with Go and TypeScript/Node.js; able to guide architecture decisions .

Experience building multi-tenant, secure, resilient services in production .

Strong ownership mindset and a proven track record of improving team performance.
