Responsibilities

• Foster a positive, hands‑on leadership style that motivates, mentors, and guides technicians to achieve their full potential and maintain a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Lead the SMT production area, working closely with area leadership to define and maintain appropriate product metrics ensuring the highest quality, productivity, and on‑time delivery to our customers.
• Hire, train, and manage a team of technicians, ensuring strong process knowledge, operational discipline, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
• Maintain in‑depth knowledge of SMT equipment and maintenance schedules to track and minimize downtime during production.
• Coordinate and oversee safety, ESD compliance, certifications, and training programs for all production personnel.
• Identify and drive process improvements through Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, leading continuous improvement and Kaizen initiatives on the production floor.
• Support root cause analyses to minimize scrap, improve yield, and enhance process stability.
• Manage multiple simultaneous projects in a dynamic production environment while maintaining a safe and efficient operation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including engineering and quality, to ensure smooth transitions from prototype to full production and implementation of design changes.

Qualifications

• Technician certification or Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing or testing environment.
• 2+ years of experience leading and developing a team of 10 or more employees in a production environment.
• Strong knowledge of SMT processes, lean manufacturing principles, and their practical application.
• Demonstrated ability to inspire, coach, and develop teams through effective communication, positive leadership, and hands‑on problem solving.
• Ability to interpret controlled process and product documentation, including schematics, drawings, assembly procedures, work instructions, and bills of material.
• Experience in fast‑paced production environments, ideally with high‑reliability or flight‑quality hardware.
• Proficiency in scheduling, resource planning, and general management tasks using MS Office or equivalent tools.
• Experience with ERP, MES, and PLM systems.
