Software Developer in MR Image Reconstruction (f/m/d)

We are looking for a software developer to drive the further development of the software framework for image reconstruction in our magnetic resonance (MR) scanners within an international context. The role offers flexibility, including mobility within Germany of up to 60 % of working hours.

Responsibilities and duties

• Maintain and develop software components in the field of image reconstruction, including frameworks, services, and algorithms.
• Advance the Linux‑based real‑time measurement and image reconstruction operating system.
• Understand underlying frameworks, integrate them into the system architecture, and ensure implementation and productisation of concepts and models.
• Coordinate development topics using agile methods, planning, and execution together with the team and external service providers.
• Produce concept documents, functional and technical specifications, design artefacts, source code, and automated tests.
• Actively contribute to feasibility studies, prototyping, and concept development during pre‑development.
• Meet project deadlines, budgets, and quality targets.
• Drive continuous improvement of software architecture, contribute innovations, and shape technical decisions.
• Serve as a technical sparring partner to product management, software/application development, system architects, and hardware development.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, medical technology, or a related field.
• Extensive professional experience in software or electrical engineering development.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Linux software development, with experience in platform‑ and OS‑independent software.
• In‑depth knowledge of test design, automated testing, continuous integration, and object‑oriented software development.
• Good knowledge of multicore programming patterns and parallelisation; experience in medical technology is a plus.
