Lead & Principal Software Engineers – AI Platform (Remote, Germany)Salary: Lead €80,000 – €100,000 | Principal €110,000–€125,000Location: Fully Remote (based in Germany) About the RoleOur client, a leading global technology organisation, is building a new AI Engineering team to accelerate the adoption of Generative AI (GenAI) across the business. Our client is looking for both Lead Software Engineers and Principal Software Engineers to help shape their next-generation AI platform. Lead Software Engineers, will a pivotal role in developing scalable AI platform capabilities, driving innovation, and building the core tools and frameworks that empower teams to create GenAI applications at scale. Principal Software Engineers, will play a key leadership role in shaping the technical strategy, design, and implementation of the company’s core AI platform capabilities. Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and implementation of large-scale GenAI initiatives and platform capabilities.Build and scale reusable components such as AI Gateways, Python/TypeScript SDKs, RAG pipelines, and LLM frameworks.Develop core AI infrastructure primitives including vector databases, observability tooling, and agentic workflows.Partner with engineering teams to drive adoption of GenAI standards and best practices.Contribute to automation and workflow solutions that enable AI innovation across business functions. About YouYou are an experienced engineer passionate about building systems that leverage Generative AI to solve complex business challenges. You thrive in technically demanding environments and enjoy shaping the direction of new engineering capabilities. Essential Experience:Proven track record building GenAI applications using frameworks such as LlamaIndex or LangGraph, with workflows like RAG or Multi-Agent architectures.Deep understanding of LLM models and providers, and the ability to integrate them effectively into applications.5+ years’ experience developing large-scale, production-grade systems using Python, Node.js, TypeScript, or Go.Deep knowledge of GenAI primitives such as vector databases, memory, semantic/hybrid search, agentic workflows, MCP, and A2A patterns.Strong experience deploying applications on AWS using services such as ECS, Fargate, or EKS, ideally with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).Proven ability to define and drive a long-term technical vision and standards across engineering teams.Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering teams. Desirable Skills:Experience using TypeScript in large-scale production environments.Experience integrating AWS Bedrock tools into GenAI applications (e.g., Bedrock, Guardrails, Evaluations, Agents).Implementation of LLM observability tools and evaluation frameworks.Experience building and integrating MCP servers for AI applications, particularly with authentication and authorisation requirements.
