Software Engineer Platform Core Services (m/w/d)

We are supporting a leading European technology group operating in secure communications and high-performance systems. For a strategic platform initiative, we are looking for an experienced Software Developer with strong practical expertise in microservice architecture.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable microservice-based backend systems
• Develop RESTful APIs and service communication interfaces
• Build and maintain containerised services using Docker
• Deploy and operate services within Kubernetes environments
• Work closely with cross-functional engineering and security teams
• Contribute to architecture decisions and system design reviews
• Ensure high availability, maintainability and performance of distributed systems

Mandatory Requirements (Strict)

• Proven hands‑on experience designing and developing microservice architectures
• Strong backend development experience (Java, C++, or similar)
• Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with REST APIs, service communication patterns and distributed systems
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows

Applications without practical microservices experience cannot be considered.

Nice to Have

• Experience with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Knowledge of authentication protocols (OAuth2, OIDC)
• Experience in security‑focused or high‑availability systems
