In this role, you will work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your Role And Responsibilities As an Architect in IBM Consulting, you will serve as a leader in defining and implementing solutions for clients. You will be the advocate for the client while guiding the technical team to implementation.

You will collaborate with client stakeholders and internal partners to understand the business problem and requirements, constraints of the system and concerns of the various stakeholders to systematically transform detailed solutions (architectures) for the client.

As a Solution Architect with expertise in Data Platforms you have specialized in designing end‑to‑end Big Data Solutions across various platforms, with extensive experience in managing large data repositories (terabyte scale or larger). You have a deep understanding of industry standards, best practices, and the HADOOP Framework, Ecosystem, MapReduce, and Data on Containers (data in OpenShift). In this role you create data solutions tailored to clients, leveraging Cloud and traditional data platform offerings, and oversee the architecture for data platform & cognitive components, including unstructured data technologies, annotation, and related data and analytics. You are experienced with Cloud native platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google, IBM Cloud, or Cloud Native data platforms like Snowflake.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

Strong fundamentals in Computer Science in connection with Big Data solutions

At least 8 years of proven experience as Data Architect

Experience in leading technical project teams.

Strong capability to design modern data lake‑house architectures and approaches

Experience with a variety of legacy platforms such as Oracle, Teradata and/or Hadoop Framework and Ecosystem including data on Containers (data in OpenShift) especially with regard to data transformation/migration scenarios

Design enterprise wide client data platform scenarios/IT systems

Experience with at least two Cloud native platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google, IBM

Deep Knowledge in data platform analysis, design and implementation in (hybrid‑) multi‑Cloud environments

Experience in data modelling, knowledge in different data model types like data vault, snowflake, star schema etc.

Strong client‑facing and consulting skills to shape date‑driven transformation strategies.

Excellent verbal and written German (min. C1 level)

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

Solution architect certificates from at least two cloud providers

Knowledge in data security and GDPR relevant topics

Databricks and/or snowflake skills are welcome

Experience with SAP data integration (e.g. SAP Datasphere or SNP Glue) is welcome

Data Governance skills are welcome
