Job Title: Computational Mechanics Researcher

Job Description:

• The Institute of Material Systems Modeling is seeking a skilled computational mechanics researcher to develop additional capabilities in the open-source multi-physics simulation framework 4C.


• This position will focus on programming and computational modeling, with an emphasis on creating new computational methods in collaboration with experimentalists.


• You will be involved in the further development of a computational multi-physics simulation framework in C++ and its application to specific research problems from materials science and process engineering.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed as a Computational Mechanics Researcher , you should have:

• A master's and PhD degree in computational mechanics, mechanical engineering, applied mathematics, or similar area.


• Excellent knowledge of computational modelling, particularly of computational mechanics. Strong programming skills are required, ideally including experience with related libraries like deal.II and Trilinos.

Please note that coding skills will be evaluated during the job interview. -Advanced theoretical foundations of engineering (mechanics, thermodynamics etc.)–Very good English language proficiency
