Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, mathematics or physics.
  • Fully proficient in Spacecraft System knowledge, with proven experience in an operational environment.
  • Good experience in mission operation preparations.
  • Good knowledge of SCOS-2000 mission control systems.
  • In depth knowledge of relevant Standards and Protocols (CCSDS and ECSS PUS).
  • Familiarity with File Based Operations.
  • Demonstrate a strong capacity for teamwork.
  • Have a high level of self‑motivation and autonomy.
  • Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

Job Responsibilities

  • Comprehend the mission objectives and the Spacecraft (S/C) design.
  • Develop, validate, maintain, and update flight and ground operational procedures for the routine phase, adhering strictly to configuration control standards.
  • Develop, validate, maintain and update plans and dedicated procedures for various ground segment test campaigns and space segment project phases, i.e. System Validation Test (SVT), System Operations Validation Test (SOVT), Launch and Early Orbit Phase (LEOP) and Commissioning Phase.
  • Support the SVT and SOVT campaigns by executing dedicated test cases and participate in the execution of the LEOP and commissioning phase.
  • Identify Space and Ground Segment anomalies and support the investigation and resolution throughout the anomaly troubleshooting cycle.
  • Create alphanumeric and graphical monitoring displays on the Mission Control System (MCS) to visualise spacecraft telemetry data.
  • Generate various training material, e.g. presentations, handbooks, rules and guidelines for the training and cross‑certification of other flight control team members.
  • Create and maintain Flight Operations System (FOS) documentation.
  • Draft and validate Operational Database change requests.
  • Take ownership of specific Ground Segment infrastructure components, ensuring their maintenance and operational availability.
  • Provide technical inputs and recommendations to the Lead Engineer.
  • Review space‑to‑ground interface specifications and flight operations manuals.
  • After launch, participate in routine phase operations execution, including shift work and regular on‑call rotation.
  • After launch, perform regular Mission Planning activities end‑to‑end, i.e. preparing, checking and performing the uplink to the spacecraft.
