Special Operations Licensed Clinical Social Worker (SOCAFRICA, Kelley Barracks-Stuttgart, Germany)

We are seeking a Special Operations Licensed Clinical Social Worker to integrate the physical, mental, and psychological wellness of our service members and their families.
This role functions within an operational unit as a Behavioral Health Care Provider, responsible for applying social work procedures and techniques—including interviewing, behavioral assessment, and evidence‑based therapies—to evaluate, diagnose, and treat psychological and neuropsychological disorders. Core clinical skills include individual, family, and group psychotherapy; couple’s therapy; and alcohol and drug treatment evaluations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Engage in all quality improvement and staffing meetings, conferences.
- Conduct applied research and clinical investigations in behavioral health and organizational social work.
- Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders, and school districts as required.
- Maintain accurate medical records of all patients and produce reports of evaluation and/or treatment.
- Participate in military‑specific training and supervise unlicensed providers or trainees when required.
- Perform required DoD or service‑required training; contact patients to assess treatment adherence; use validated symptom inventories; assess barriers to treatment; provide education regarding mental health; maintain patient information in registries and electronic medical records; and perform case management functions.
Required Education/Experience/Skills/Training
- U.S. Citizenship.
- DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
- Master of Social Work (MSW) or equivalent from a CSWE-accredited program.
- Current, unrestricted clinical license to practice in any U.S. state, D.C., Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands.
- Good standing credentialing at a local MTF.
- A minimum of two years peer‑reviewable clinical social work experience in a mental health setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of professional standards and ethics in clinical social work services.
- Experience in brief behavioral interventions.
- May be required to receive and maintain clinical practice privileges.

Desired Education/Experience/Skills/Training
- Prior military and/or SOF experience highly desired.
- Experience working in a government setting such as DoD or VA MTF.
