Job Description

  • Assure best quality of the manufactured products for satisfaction of Continental customers and support the achievement of the revenue target.
  • Implement robust process controls in managing suppliers to prevent defects from entering the shopfloor (scrap, NCC, blocked stocks) to achieve the profit target.
  • Drive and coordinate with suppliers to analyze material issues and implement preventive actions to reduce/eliminate SCB/cost deductions.
  • Support consolidation and coordination of the supplier‑related non‑conformance cost (NCC) through SCB or cost deduction through RMA; support quality strategies to achieve targets aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Review past performances, perform risk assessment versus company goals and objectives.
  • Define key focus areas, measurables, targets and identify projects that will impact the achievement of SQM KPIs.
  • Deploy agreed SQM quality strategy to all interested parties.
  • Perform regular SWOT analysis on SQM processes to focus on areas for sustenance (strength) and improvement (weakness).
  • Work with SQM CI for successful handover of projects from new product introduction to series production.
  • Actively participate in Continental/supplier workshops and trainings to gain understanding of new industry technologies.
  • Support supplier audit for new business/product/technology when necessary.
  • Execute consequent supplier‑management activities to track any quality deviations (zero tolerance for defects).
  • Drive root‑cause analysis and enforce the definition and implementation of appropriate counter‑measures at suppliers to ensure parts and services meet defined quality requirements.

Supplier Strategy / Quality Management

  • Implement the preferred supplier and component strategy.
  • Initiate, lead and drive supplier improvement programs.
  • Define targets and control measures with the supplier in alignment with SQM business and quality targets.

Reporting

  • Use and support the data system to collect and evaluate supplier‑quality related KPIs; issue periodic performance reports and initiate improvement actions.
  • Contribute to the supplier‑quality related report in the plant (KPI driven).
  • Continuously track target setting and plan fulfillment (monitoring, analysis, control) within the Supplier Quality Management System.
  • Coordinate collection of the supplier‑related quality costs (SCB).

Audits

  • Perform process audits (maintenance and non‑conformance) for the plant as planned and scheduled.
  • Ensure implementation and compliance with IATF and VDA standards.
  • Document lessons learned and read‑across.

Other Responsibilities

  • Maintain and expand business partnership with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
  • Understand customer requirements and deliver accordingly.
  • Ensure Continental quality requirements are understood by suppliers and complied with during series production.
  • Collaborate with business area/SQM category/central function management during supplier escalation if necessary (e.g., Red Alert, Early Warning, CSL).
  • Actualize skill‑needs assessment (SNA)/competency assessment toward desired competency level.
  • Regularly review and improve the SNA/competency assessment.
  • Engage and direct the organization toward a quality‑first mindset in a multicultural environment.
  • Develop, maintain and implement effective quality solutions to meet customer expectations.
  • Support quality programs such as Quality Month, Quality Basic Training, Quality Awards, Suppliers Week, etc.
  • Partner with IQA in issue resolution and KPI achievement.
  • Promote core values and Malasakit culture through active involvement in company activities.
  • Support Malasakit activities.
  • Participate in CSR and GWP activities.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Additional Information

Competencies

  • Quality Management Systems – Knowledge of automotive QMS (IATF 16949, VDA 6.3), international industry standards and local & corporate QMS.
  • Environmental Management Systems – Knowledge/overview of environmental systems and compliance requirements.
  • Quality & CBS Tools & Methods – Knowledge of quality and CBS tools and methods for process controls and continuous improvement.
  • Problem Solving – Knowledge and experience/implementation of problem‑solving tools (8D, A3).
  • New Product / Material Introduction – Competency to handle new materials/component introduction.
  • Customer / Product Requirements – Execute product requirements per SNA.
  • Data Management / Database Knowledge – Expertise in using data management tools and databases related to SQM tasks.
  • Material Category Knowledge – Subject‑matter knowledge on assigned material category; conduct trainings.
  • Product Validation & Material Analysis Testing – Basic knowledge of product validation and material analysis testing.
  • Leadership Skills (Self & People) – Improve soft skills and leadership to drive effective collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering: Electrical, Electronics & Communications, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Computer, Materials.
  • Knowledgeable in quality management systems.
  • Work experience in any mechanical manufacturing industry (e.g., PCB, stamping, casting, cable, plastic mechatronics, rubber).
  • Experience in manufacturing and component introduction processes.
  • Project issue and problem resolution experience.
  • Risk assessment involvement.
  • Experience in leading and developing people.
  • Capability to handle and communicate with suppliers and customers.
  • Effective collaboration skills.
  • Experience working with people of different cultures.
  • Effective communication skills.
