Sr. Financial Analyst, Revenue Recognition

About the role

The Senior Financial Analyst will partner with Services Leadership to provide financial reporting, P&L analysis, planning, and forecasting. The role requires strong accounting and analytical aptitude, multitasking, collaboration at all levels of the business, excellent communication, problem‑solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. The analyst will work in a fast‑paced environment.

What you’ll be doing

• Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses.
• Collaborate with the management team to improve operational and financial performance.
• Guide the cost analysis process by enforcing policies and procedures; provide trends; explain processes and techniques; recommend actions.
• Assist in month‑end close processes and financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly reporting package sub‑schedules and P&L variance analysis.
• Develop best‑practice process flows in defined area of responsibility.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as requested by management.
• Create and maintain reports for senior management and present data to appropriate parties.
• Prepare budget and forecasts in partnership with the business and under management direction.
• Prepare budget‑to‑actual comparison analysis.
• Provide qualitative analysis and commentary on monthly results.
• Develop Key Performance Indicator (KPI) summary reporting and analysis.
• Maintain financial data accuracy and integrity by in‑depth analysis of financial reports and underlying data.
  • Review financial reports and underlying data.
  • Question reporting of data anomalies.
  • Initiate error detection controls to prevent future errors.
  • Initiate error correction activities.
• Plan and manage business analysis across multiple projects and initiatives.
• Perform special assignments and analysis as requested.

What you have

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years related business experience in a medium to large‑size business.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage workload and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, highly proficient in Excel (e.g., formulas, V‑lookups, pivot tables) and PowerPoint.
• Solid critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional self‑starter, able to work independently, and strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with others.
• Extremely detail‑oriented and resourceful.
• Prior experience with services accounting, revenue recognition, and percentage‑of‑completion accounting a plus.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion and personal judgment.
