Description
This position is ideal for experienced QA and SDET professionals with strong backgrounds in both QA and automation to join the ATD DE team as a Sr. Software Engineer in Test. You will design, implement, and maintain scalable test frameworks while also developing efficient test plans to ensure product reliability, functionality, and user experience. Working closely with development and product teams, you will validate multi‑platform, AWS‑based backend, web, and mobile applications including ClinCheck® and the mobile Invisalign Practice App. This role is key in ensuring high‑quality releases and advancing automation maturity across Align’s digital orthodontic solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test reports to validate functionality, integration, and user workflows.
- Design, extend, and maintain automated testing frameworks for backend, web, and iOS applications.
- Implement automated test cases for new functionality and ensure continuous regression coverage.
- Contribute to and evolve the Pytest framework used for testing serverless backend services on AWS.
- Develop and maintain Selenium‑based automated tests for the ClinCheck® web application.
- Extend and improve Appium‑based automation coverage for the Invisalign Practice App (iOS).
- Collaborate with backend, frontend, and mobile engineers as well as product owners to ensure testability and integration reliability.
- Collaborate with external teams to set up communication and technical processes.
- Perform black‑box, system integration, and end‑to‑end testing to ensure robust and user‑ready software quality.
- Analyze, reproduce and document defects; work with developers to identify root causes and verify resolutions.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 8+ years of professional experience as a Software QA Engineer, Test Engineer, or SDET, preferably in multi‑platform or cloud‑based environments.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset, with a focus on quality ownership and continuous improvement.
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience with Pytest or similar frameworks.
- Strong experience with task and test management, and defect tracking (Jira, TM4J, etc.)
- Hands‑on experience with Selenium or Playwright in web automation, Appium in mobile test automation, or backend automation.
- Strong understanding of software quality principles, test data management, and observability in testing.
- Strong experience in Git.
- Familiarity with JIRA and Agile/Scrum practices.
- Knowledge of CI/CD systems (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines).
- Familiarity with Allure or other test reporting tools.
- Communication: Excellent collaboration and documentation skills; upper‑intermediate English for effective work with distributed teams.
- Mindset: Analytical, self‑organized, and proactive — passionate about improving quality through both testing and automation.
Complementary skills
- Experience with Integration Services, API testing, microservices validation, or event‑driven backend architectures.
- Solid understanding of AWS architectures, serverless components, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of OOP and design patterns.
- Understanding of performance testing, security testing, or usability validation principles.
- Experience in image analysis in UI automation or mobile camera testing.
- Ability to lead the interview process.
