Our solar array products are in high demand from customers around the globe, ranging from scientific one-off satellites to series production for constellations. The solar cells are one of the key supplied elements which has a significant impact on the performance and longevity of our products. This role is therefore critical to secure the long term availability of solar cells with the right technical characteristics and quality. This role, due to its importance, will report directly to the Head of the Solar Array Factory.

Your tasks

• Development and maintenance of a Solar Cell sourcing strategy
• Set up long term agreements with the Solar cell provider
• Together with the Product Group Leader Solar Array, agree the technology roadmap with the solar cell provider for future developments
• Preparation/maintenance of procurement specification and contractual documents of space grade solar cells
• Subcontractor management of the suppliers to ensure On Quality, On Time and On Cost delivery
• Technical interface management
• Supplier Performance Evaluation

Your skills and experience

• Bachelor or master’s degree in engineering or physics or related disciplines and related job experience
• Experience in technical procurement / subcontractor management of strategic components
• Knowledge of (space grade) solar cell manufacturing would be an advantage
• Experience in complex negotiations in a context of limited leverage
• Team player, good communication skills, strategic thinking
• Negotiation level of English
• Knowledge of German would be an advantage
