Substance & Manufacturing Compliance Engineer – Aerospace (m/f/d)

For our long-standing client Airbus Defence & Space , we are looking for an experienced professional in the field of Materials Compliance, Sustainability and Environmental Strategy .

This role combines technical expertise in materials & processes with sustainability governance and Scope 3 environmental reporting.

Contract with Tintschl Technik GmbH

• Support the execution of substance impact evaluation
• Maintain and orchestrate the substance impact evaluation network in all programme lines
• Network includes: M&P, manufacturing engineering,design, programme lines
• Secure the network delivers decision:

• Define the necessity of a centralised R&T project

• Cancellation of impacted manufacturing processes or mixtures
• Expand/adapt the network depending on the affected substances and the potentially impacted areas
• Coordinate the priorities of substances to be analysed
• Prepare the needed inputs for starting a substance replacement project
• Manage the database of impacted substances and processes

Support on the execution the substance strategy definition (escalation meeting):

• Take the results from substance impact evaluation and deliver decisions for each substance (R&T, advocacy, authorisation)
• Coordinate a MFT team addressing the strategy for each substance: M&P, manufacturing engineering, product compliance specialists, H&S
• Maintain the substance strategy document
• Drive for full coverage of regulated substances

• Delivery of Scope3 USP
• Act as a leader of a multi-functional team with the objective to deliver Scope 3 User of Sold Products as part of Airbus’ non-financial reporting
• Ensure approval given by external auditors
• Align methodology with experts and/or programme lines
• Act as a focal point of global warming challenges
• Master’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Materials Science or similar
• Experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering or Configuration Management
• Aerospace or highly regulated industries
• Strong analytical and structured working style
• Experience working in cross-functional / international environments
• Good presentation and negotiation skills
• Fluent English required (German is a plus)
• Willingness to travel within Europe (3–4 times per year)
