Overview

We are looking for a Senior Supplier Quality Manager (SQM) to join a high-impact project focused on supplier performance improvement across Germany. This is a hands-on, site-based role where you will lead supplier audits, challenge processes, and drive corrective actions through to sustainable implementation.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced SQM who thrives in fast-paced environments and can influence suppliers to deliver measurable quality and performance improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site supplier assessments, audits, and capability/maturity evaluations
• Review root cause analyses (RCA) and validate corrective and preventive actions
• Drive implementation of corrective actions through to closure and sustainability
• Evaluate the effectiveness, completeness, and timeliness of supplier improvements
• Identify gaps or deviations and define additional improvement measures
• Assess supplier future delivery capability , including capacity and process readiness
• Provide structured reporting , including weekly status updates and risk escalation
• Act as a key interface between suppliers and the client
• Support suppliers through to final acceptance and sustained performance improvement

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Supplier Quality Manager / Supplier Development Engineer in a senior capacity
• Strong background in supplier audits, quality improvement, and performance management
• Demonstrated expertise in root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., 8D, Ishikawa, 5 Whys)
• Experience working on-site with suppliers, driving change and accountability
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skillsAbility to travel extensively across Germany
• Fluent in English; German language skills highly advantageous
