My client, a growing organization currently seek a Supply Base Project Lead to drive critical supplier-related initiatives across a complex, global supply chain. This is a high-impact role focused on leading supplier transfers, industrialisation activities, and the transition from development into full-scale production. You will operate at the centre of a cross-functional environment, ensuring supplier readiness, cost control, and supply continuity.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Base Project Leadership

• Lead cross-functional supply base projects, including supplier transfers, industrialisation initiatives, and production ramp-ups.
• Define project scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables aligned with supplier readiness and capacity.
• Act as the central coordination point across Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and Project Management teams.

Sourcing & Supplier Strategy

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for complex components and assemblies.
• Lead RFQ/RFP processes, including technical, commercial, and risk evaluations.
• Support supplier selection decisions based on total cost of ownership and long-term sustainability.

Commercial & Contract Management

• Lead or support supplier negotiations covering pricing, cost models, and volume assumptions.
• Ensure robust contractual frameworks are established, including terms related to delivery, tooling, and performance.
• Manage commercial topics throughout the project lifecycle, including claims and cost adjustments.
• Coordinate supplier onboarding and oversee transitions from prototype through to serial production.
• Ensure suppliers meet required standards for quality, capacity, and compliance ahead of production start.
• Support dual sourcing and risk mitigation strategies during transition phases.

Supply Risk & Continuity

• Identify and mitigate supply risks, including capacity constraints and single-source dependencies.
• Implement contingency plans such as alternative sourcing or phased ramp-ups.
• Support escalation management to protect supply continuity.
• Define and track supplier KPIs across cost, delivery, and performance.
• Support supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build strong, collaborative supplier relationships and lead structured performance reviews.

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Supplier Development, or Project Management within a manufacturing or regulated environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading supplier-related projects (e.g. supplier transfers, industrialisation).
• Strong commercial acumen with exposure to supplier negotiations and contracts.
• Experience working within cross-functional, matrix organisations.
• Fluency in both English and German
