System Engineer - Modem Performance (m/f/d)

About the Job Bridgecom Semiconductors is a growing tech startup specializing in 5G solutions, with locations in Munich and Linz. We are actively looking for a motivated system engineer with focus on modem performance in our team in Munich. This role requires a balance of in-depth modem understanding and hands‑on lab- and field‑testing. You'll work in a cross‑functional manner with the Bridgecom RF, FW, and algo development teams across our sites.

Your Responsibilities As Modem Performance System Engineer you will

Define system‑tests for cellular performance KPIs.

Work hands‑on with test‑equipment.

Perform link‑level simulations.

Analyze trace‑logs and isolate issues.

Apply fixes in FW/SW, generate new builds for retest.

Work in a cross‑functional and cross‑site environment.

Debug GCF/network‑vendor/operator/and field‑tests.

Identify the weak spots based on field‑ and customer feedback.

Work on management of test results (database, visualization, dashboarding).

Your Profile

Master’s degree or above in Communication/Electrical/Computer/Microelectronics Engineering.

5+ years experience in a relevant field.

Product ramp experience in cellular chipset industry including testing, debugging, and patching.

Profound knowledge of 5G/NR, 3GPP standards, and physical‑layer algorithms.

Good programming skills in Python, C/C++, Matlab; fluent in Git operation.

Deep system understanding, covering baseband, protocol‑stack, and radio‑frequency units.

Knowledge of hardware/firmware architecture.

Experience with cellular system validation, KPI‑testing, and benchmarking.

Good analytic skills.

Experience with test‑equipment and trace‑logs.

Self‑motivated and willing to assume end‑to‑end responsibility.

Good communication and coordination skills, a good team‑player.

Fluend in technical English communication.
