System Engineer - Railway – M/F/X

We are looking for a System Engineer to support long-term projects for one of our clients in the railway sector, working on safety-critical signaling systems.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing customer requirements and documentation (functional specifications, technical requirements)
• Identifying gaps between customer needs and existing generic signaling solutions
• Defining system and sub-system specifications, architectures, and interface requirements
• Contributing to system adaptation in collaboration with development and software teams
• Ensuring requirement traceability throughout the project lifecycle
• Configuring onboard signaling equipment to meet project-specific needs
• Preparing and executing integration and design-level tests in laboratory environments
• Supporting system testing activities and technical investigations when required
• Participating in technical reviews (design, documentation, validation)
• Working closely with RAM, Safety, Cybersecurity, Software, and V&V teams

Profil

You hold a Master’s degree in Engineering (Electronics, Automation, Systems, Computer Science or similar) and are interested in complex, regulated environments.

Must Have

• Strong analytical skills and ability to understand complex technical systems
• Experience or strong interest in railway, aerospace, defense, or safety‑critical systems
• Ability to translate customer needs into structured system requirements
• Fluency in English and French
• Rigorous, reliable, proactive mindset with strong communication skills

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of ERTMS / ETCS principles
• Experience with system modeling methodologies (UML, SysML)
• Familiarity with requirements and traceability tools (DOORS, ClearQuest or similar)
• Exposure to RAMS, Safety, or Cybersecurity engineering
