Position: System Engineer Vehicle Control

As a System Engineer Vehicle Control you will be responsible for the functional design and development of locomotive controls. Your responsibilities include the entire engineering process from requirements definition through concept creation, system design, software development, testing and commissioning support.

  • Develop functional concepts and define system requirements for software and hardware.
  • Design, develop and test TCMS software applications for locomotive controls.
  • Ensure reusability of work results in terms of product and technical platform strategies.
  • Document software requirements and specifications.
  • Coordinate with other departments and project teams for cross‑functional integration solution topics.
  • Stay up to date on the latest locomotive control technologies and drive innovations.
  • Define system requirements and system interface specifications for vehicle control.
  • Design and implement software components in alignment with guidelines for safety‑relevant software systems.
  • Design control functions based on functional block diagrams.
  • Analyze diagnostic information, fix bugs and define new control logics to improve vehicle performance.
  • Implement upgrades or new work of application software with end‑to‑end responsibility using the V model approach.
  • Conduct training sessions for customers and service colleagues.
  • Act as a problem solver, ensuring correct standard application.
  • Work independently on several TCMS subsystems and create logic block diagrams.

Desired Skills

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or electronic engineering with several years of experience in TCMS development.
  • Domain knowledge of locomotive/ train control, testing and commissioning.
  • First experience with railway systems and electrical interfaces.
  • Experience with TRDP, MVB, WTB, Ethernet communication protocols.
  • Strong understanding and proven experience with requirement engineering is a prerequisite.
  • Good understanding of standards such as IEC 50128, IEC 61131, IEC 61375, etc.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of German is an advantage.
  • Open to international business travel.

This role is based in Bangalore. You might be required to visit other locations within India and outside.
