Responsibilities

• Technical and disciplinary management of the general ledger and sub‑ledger team (6 people) with a focus on motivation, development and individual support for employees
• Ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and IFRS
• Responsibility for general ledger accounting, sub‑ledgers, account reconciliation and accounting for complex business transactions
• Management, prioritisation and coordination of tasks within the team – even during periods of high workload
• Promotion of an open, trusting and solution‑oriented team culture
• Working closely with Controlling, Group Accounting, the Tax Department and external auditors
• Identifying and implementing process optimisations, automation and internal control mechanisms
• Actively participating in projects for system implementation, standardisation and further development of accounting

Your profile

• Completed degree in business administration or commercial training with relevant further education
• Successfully passed accountant exam is an advantage, but not a must
• At least 10 years of professional experience in finance and accounting, with initial management experience
• In‑depth knowledge of accounting in accordance with HGB and IFRS
• Very good SAP knowledge at user level, preferably in S/4HANA
• High level of confidence in closing accounts, analytical thinking and sense of responsibility
• Strong leadership skills with empathy, strong communication skills and role model behaviour
• Ability to act resiliently and solution‑oriented in a dynamic environment
• Enjoyment in promoting and coaching employees and acting as a sparring partner on an equal footing
• Good written and spoken English skills
