Team Lead Software Engineering - (Python / Cloud / AI)

Software Engineering Team Lead , you’ll lead a team focused on developing scalable backend systems and cloud infrastructure that support AI and machine learning workloads in production.

In this role you will:

• Lead a team building Python-based backend systems supporting AI/ML-driven products.
• Design and deliver cloud-native infrastructure for scalable, production-grade AI systems.
• Translate complex technical challenges into clear, actionable delivery plans.
• Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and stakeholders to deliver high-impact features.
• Drive best practices across system design, scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Guide development of data pipelines and model-serving infrastructure.
• Contribute to architectural decisions across distributed systems and cloud environments.
• Remain hands-on where needed, supporting critical components and technical problem-solving.
• Mentor and develop engineers, building a high-performing and growth-focused team.
• Balance delivery speed with long-term system scalability and maintainability.

What we're looking for:

• Strong experience in backend software engineering , with a focus on Python systems.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers in a Team Lead or Senior capacity.
• Background building cloud-native, distributed systems.
• Experience working on AI/ML systems, data platforms, or data-intensive applications.
• Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and performance optimisation.
• Comfortable working across backend, infrastructure, and data workflows.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes.
• Ability to operate in fast-paced environments with technical ambiguity.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
