LLM Engineers, I am looking for a freelance contractor to join a AI/ML start-up who are disrupting numerous fields of emerging technologies! If you are a freelancer based in Germany, this will be a remote role with the aim to extend the project for a number of years. Tech Lead with deep expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs) to drive transformative AI solutions. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of AI while providing technical guidance and leading hands-on development efforts.

Day-to-day:

• Hands-on development to design, implement, test, and deploy advanced algorithms to solve complex AI challenges, ensuring robustness and scalability in production environments
• Provide technical guidance and direction in LLM development, ensuring innovative and high-performing solutions
• Define and execute a technical roadmap
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless and scalable AI solutions
• Support team members by sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of innovation
• Own people management, cross-team collaboration, and project management for a team of researchers
• Ensure the team’s prioritisation and work streams align with goals
• Work with the team to up-level their project management skills

A little bit about you:

• Experience guiding algorithm or AI-focused teams, with proven experience in leading positions
• Several years in LLM algorithm development
• Proficiency in machine learning frameworks and AI methodologies, especially PyTorch, Transformers library, Hugging Face sources, Weights & Biases
• Proven ability to deliver scalable solutions under tight deadlines
• Strong skills in articulating complex technical concepts
• Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and a strong understanding of current LLM technologies and their business applications
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with both business and technical teams
