Be part of change The finite nature of fossil fuels is increasingly forcing a rethink in energy policy. Intensive use of biogenic residues can replace fossil fuels. To drive this development forward, the European SEAFAIRER funding project is operating and optimizing a promising new vertical pyrolysis technology for converting biogenic residues into high-quality energy sources such as bio‑coal, hydrogen‑rich synthesis gases, and valuable bio‑crude oils. The subject area of this thesis is the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of experiments at the VINTER250 demonstration pyrolysis plant as part of the SEAFAIRER project.

Preparation, execution, and follow‑up of experiments

Documentation and evaluation of experimental results

Derivation of process parameters for optimal plant control

Maintenance of databases

Research activities

What you contribute The following are required:

Degree in process engineering, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, energy engineering, or comparable fields

Ability to work independently

Valid Class B driver’s license in Germany

Confident use of Office applications

English language skills at B1 level

Nice to have:

Technical affinity

Hands‑on mentality

German language skills at B1 level
