SANTANDER CORPORATE & INVESTMENT BANKING
We support the world’s most complex corporate and institutional clients. SCIB is looking for an Associate based in Frankfurt who will support the Trade & Working Capital Team in originating and structuring solutions for large corporate clients across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Nordic countries. You will manage a dedicated set of customers for your cluster.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and execute transactions, including applications for internal approval committees and alignment with stakeholders such as Banking, Private Debt Mobilisation (Syndication), Operations, Legal, Product, Working Capital Advisory, Compliance, and IT to provide best‑in‑class service and seamless end‑to‑end origination and execution.
- Support senior team members in identifying opportunities and originating transactions within Trade & Working Capital solutions; prepare and deliver client presentations and support other sales and coverage initiatives.
- Perform financial and strategic business analysis.
- Adhere to internal processes and governance to ensure control and transparency over sales activity.
- Gather market intelligence and advise clients on all matters concerning Trade and Working Capital solutions.
- Support management of the existing portfolio business and assist in enhancing profitability and revenues in line with Santander’s requirements.
- Support the team in external advocacy roles to build up Santander’s branding and thought leadership.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in banking and/or Trade & Working Capital instruments and solutions (Required).
- Customer‑facing and/or sales experience is a plus (Preferred).
EDUCATION
- B.A. in Finance, Business Administration or equivalent, or other university and business school qualifications such as finance, law, engineering, maths, physics, or economics (Required).
- Fluency in English and German (Required).
- Spanish or any Nordic language is a plus (Preferred).
- Knowledge of trade & working capital products and structures (Required).
- Knowledge of corporate banking (Preferred).
- Basic knowledge of legal structures (Preferred).
- Experience leading customer calls.
