Train Control Engineer for Rolling Stock

We are looking for a Train Control Engineer to strengthen our railway engineering team. This role focuses on the development and integration of software for Train Control and Management Systems (TCMS) on Customer platform, ensuring compliance with CENELEC railway safety standards. The position combines hands-on software development with close collaboration across system, safety, and test teams to deliver reliable and certifiable solutions.

Your tasks: Design, develop, and maintain application-level software for TCMS. Implement software requirements according to higher-level requirements and design modifications. Implement software components according to requirements and design specifications. Ensure compliance with EN 50128 / EN 50657 standards for safety-related railway software. Perform software integration, debugging, and verification. Document software design, code, and verification activities to support certification. Collaborate with system engineers, test engineers, safety managers, and V&V teams to ensure traceability and quality. Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, methodologies, and tools. Support problem-solving during commissioning and customer acceptance phases.

Your profile: Degree in Software Engineering, Electronics, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in railway software development. Strong programming skills in C, C++, or Python. Knowledge of real-time operating systems, communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, MVB, etc.), and embedded targets. Understanding of railway software standards (EN 50128, EN 50657) or willingness to acquire this knowledge. Experience with configuration management, version control, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Git, Jenkins). Proactive, analytical, detail-oriented, and a strong team player. Fluent in English. German is a strong plus.
