Software Engineer - Frontend (f/m/d)

We are looking for YOU as Software Engineer (f/m/d) in the department of Product Engineering.

YOUR TASKS

As a Software Engineer (f/m/d) with focus on frontend development you support vent.io in building modern web applications, mobile apps and portals as digital products for vent.io based on a cutting-edge cloud infrastructure:

• You develop the front ends of vent.io’s software products under the guidance of senior team members — and you’re not afraid to dive into backend tasks when needed.
• You work closely with cross-functional product teams to plan, build, and maintain modern web applications.
• You take ownership of the applications you develop, supporting them from initial concept through to production with a DevOps mindset.
• You actively contribute to quality assurance by writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that is testable and observable in production.
• You continuously learn and grow through mentorship, pair programming, and hands‑on experience.
• You may also bring a sense of software architecture, thinking beyond implementation to how components fit together, scale, and evolve over time.

YOUR SKILLS

• You hold a graduate degree in computer science, engineering, informatics, or another quantitative field.
• You write clean, maintainable code and build responsive websites with proper use of CSS.
• You understand REST APIs and how frontend interfaces interact with backend services.
• You have a basic understanding of core computer science fundamentals such as data structures and algorithms.
• Ideally, you have some initial experience in cloud‑native development, including technologies like containerization (e.g., Docker) or OpenTelemetry.

• You have good analytical skills, and you can split a complex problem into its individual parts.
• You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and best practices.
• You speak your mind openly and don’t wait for the next ceremony to raise concerns, share ideas, or ask questions. You value direct and timely communication.
• You have strong collaboration skills for working together with highly skilled engineers, scientists, designers and product owners.
• You speak English fluently and ideally have basic conversations skills in German.
