The Gigafactory EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) Team is looking for a skilled and detail‑oriented VDC Surveyor to lead on‑site survey activities and support our reality capture program. This is a field‑based role centered on high‑precision construction surveying, ensuring all civil, structural, and architectural components are built to specification. You will also be a key contributor to our digital construction workflow by supporting the VDC team with 3D laser scanning for as‑built verification and progress tracking. The ideal candidate is a seasoned surveyor who is comfortable with modern digital tools and thrives in a fast‑paced, large‑scale industrial construction project.

What You'll Do

Establish, maintain, and verify primary and secondary site control networks with a high degree of accuracy.
Perform precise construction set‑out and layout for foundations, structural steel, architectural elements, wall/floor/ceiling openings and MEP systems.
Conduct layout for manufacturing equipment, tool foundations, and utility connection points, working directly with engineering and construction teams.
Execute surveys (as‑built) to verify constructed conditions against design models and drawings, producing clear deviation reports.
Manage, calibrate, and maintain all surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS/GNSS rovers, and digital levels.
Process and analyze raw survey data to prepare layout files and verification reports and other needed survey documentation for project stakeholders.
Collaborate with the VDC team by assisting in the execution of detailed 3D laser scans of active construction areas and existing facilities.
Support the registration and processing of raw scan data and integrate survey control to produce highly accurate, geo‑referenced point clouds.

What You'll Bring

A degree in Geomatics, Surveying Engineering (Vermessungswesen), Geodesy, or a related field. A completed technical apprenticeship (Ausbildung zum Vermessungstechniker) with relevant experience is also highly valued.
3+ years of hands‑on experience in construction surveying, preferably on large‑scale industrial or commercial projects.
Proven expertise in operating and maintaining survey instruments such as total stations, GPS/GNSS, and levels (e.g., Leica, Trimble, Topcon).
Proficiency in survey data processing software (e.g., Leica Infinity, Trimble Business Center, or similar).
Familiarity with 3D laser scanning hardware and an understanding of point cloud data is strongly preferred.
Experience with Autodesk software including AutoCAD, Revit and Civil 3D.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and solve problems in a dynamic field environment.
Excellent communication skills in English. German language skills (B2+ preferred) are a significant advantage for on‑site coordination.
Note: A formal state certification as a publicly appointed surveyor (e.g., ÖbVI) is not required for this construction‑focused role.
