This opportunity invites experienced professionals to become Vice President of Research and Development at an innovative technology leader located in a strategic border region. As part of the senior leadership team, you will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for setting the strategic direction and advancing the global product portfolio and innovation roadmap. Your primary duty involves the management of the entire development process from prototype to mass production, including the implementation of structures, KPIs, and transparent reporting systems to enhance efficiency and reduce cost-to-market. This role requires close collaboration with internal departments such as Product Management, Marketing, Production, Quality, and Sales to fully understand market demands and customer needs, ensuring the evolution of current products and the identification of innovation potential for new product development.
The Vice President will ensure efficient product development, modification, and maintenance by expanding organizational competencies, maintaining comprehensive product documentation, and supporting product testing, approval, and certification. Collaboration with external partners, key clients, partner companies, and academic institutions is essential to incorporate current technologies and trends in materials and sustainability into product development and bolster competitiveness. The ideal candidate will possess a technical degree in electrical engineering or physics and have several years of leadership experience in the technical and development areas of a manufacturing company within the electrotechnical industry, especially focusing on medium and low voltage.
Successful candidates will have in-depth knowledge of R&D and product and technology strategy development, along with familiarity with the latest trends, methods, and tools in product development. Comprehensive expertise in project management, product lifecycle management, and process optimization is crucial to improving R&D efficiency and reducing time-to-market. The role demands an innovative, decisive manager with entrepreneurial foresight, capable of identifying innovation opportunities and formulating strategic goals to secure the client's competitiveness. A conceptual, methodical approach combined with high self-motivation, team-oriented leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and strong German and English proficiency are required.
