V.I.E Junior Project Officer – Battery Electric Trains (M/F)

Transdev is Hiring a Junior Project Officer - Battery Electric Trains (VIE) – Leipzig, Germany

As part of the development of sustainable rail operations, Transdev Mitteldeutschland is looking for a Junior Project Officer to support the implementation and operation of battery electric trains. Based in Leipzig, the V.I.E will contribute to innovative rail mobility projects and work closely with operational and technical teams involved in the deployment of new traction technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Within the project team, the V.I.E. will support the operational deployment and monitoring of battery‑powered trains. Main responsibilities include:

• Supporting the operational planning and implementation of battery electric trains in coordination with specialist departments and train drivers
• Analysing and documenting operating data, charging cycles and performance indicators for the new vehicles
• Working with experts to develop concepts for training and operational processes
• Acting as a contact point for internal and external questions related to the new vehicles
• Supporting project coordination and reporting activities related to sustainable rail operations

Your Profile

We are looking for a motivated candidate interested in sustainable mobility and railway innovation:

• A degree from a university, engineering school, or business school
• Interest in innovative railway technology and sustainable mobility
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
• German and English proficiency (B2/C1 level)
• Initial experience in project work or railway operations would be a plus

This V.I.E position offers the opportunity to join Transdev Mitteldeutschland in Leipzig and contribute to the development of sustainable rail mobility solutions. The Junior Project Officer will work closely with operational and technical teams and gain hands‑on experience in innovative railway projects involving battery electric train technology. The role reports to the Managing Director and includes occasional travel (2–3 days per month). This V.I.E assignment is for a duration of 24 months.
