The successful candidate will cover the fields of English literary and cultural studies in their entirety and have an additional specialisation in Environmental Humanities. As a changemaker professorship within the "Collaborative Research Ecosystems", the position connects the humanities and cultural studies with knowledge from other disciplines such as biology, (geo)ecology, environmental sciences, architecture or media studies, the social sciences and economic sciences. The selected candidate will integrate the humanities laterally into the research group of the programme section "ReSpace: Connected Response‑able Spaces for Sustainable Living", the "Future City" and "Mobility" core research areas and establish contacts with other core research areas at the TU.
The successful candidate will be involved in teaching across the bachelor's degree in English Studies and in specific modules in the Master of Education degree. In addition, they will contribute to teaching in the MA degree "Culture of the Techno‑Scientific World" and its development. In their teaching, the selected candidate is expected to cover foundational and current research topics in English literary, cultural and media studies spanning from the 16th/17th century to the present day, complemented by topics in Environmental Humanities. All teaching will be in English.
