At the Department of Chemistry of the RPTU, a W3 professorship for "Technical Polymer Chemistry" (m/f/d) in connection with the management of the Program Area "Polymer Chemistry" at the Leibniz‑Institut für Verbundwerkstoffe (IVW) is available under the Karlsruhe model.

Responsibilities

• Represent the field in research and teaching and lead research activities at IVW.
• Establish the new Program Area "Polymer Chemistry" at IVW.
• Provide teaching (both in German and English) in the full range of Macromolecular Chemistry and contribute to other courses of the department, including practical courses for B.Sc./M.Sc. Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering, B.Sc./M.Sc. Industrial Engineering/Chemistry, and B.Sc./M.Sc. Biophysics.
• Participate in university committees and technology transfer activities.
• Collaborate with other research groups at the Department of Chemistry, IVW working groups, and other RPTU departments; participation in the priority area NanoKat is possible.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge and expertise in a promising research area of application‑oriented polymer chemistry with a special focus on sustainability (polymers from renewable resources, green chemistry, separation and recovery of raw materials, functionalization of polymers, modification of interfaces).
• Experience in collaborating with research groups in chemistry.
• Proven record of acquisition of third‑party funding.
• Strong teaching skills and experience in teaching, including teaching concept development.
