Overview

The Warehouse Operation Manager is responsible for leading and managing the warehouse operational activities. This role combines operational oversight with people leadership — driving performance, process excellence, customer satisfaction, and compliance with national and international freight and customs & AEO regulations incl. Warehouse BR1 P/L accountability. He will field requests and initiate internal issue resolution. If required he will work closely with respective Operational Centers (global/regional) and key stakeholders to ensure alignment between customer expectations and AIT performance, reporting analysis and process management.

Responsibilities

  • Management of assigned Team:
    • Annual performance review with team members
    • Employee development & Resource planning (e.g. Vacation, Sick leave, Working hours/overtime, etc.)
    • Staffing (FTE approvals for all assigned staff along productivity targets & budget)
    • Compensation planning for all assigned staff
    • Perform regular team meetings and document meeting minutes
    • Meet regularly with warehouse people and analyze productivity and develop actionable plans for loss prevention
    • Train and manage the warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals.
    • Schedule and oversee warehouse team, and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime
  • Management of Infrastructure:
    • Maintain a clean work environment and follow safety policies
    • Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance when necessary
  • Act as first escalation point for operational WHS issues
  • Ensure that the warehouse operates at peak efficiency – with customer satisfaction the primary goal – by managing, organizing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals
  • Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory, gate processes, and shipping methods.
  • In cooperation with the Business Manager WHS, directly procure services and capacities to ensure that the product continuously meets customer & management requirements
  • Oversee daily operations while controlling and managing inventory and logistics
  • Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, quality, and customer service.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and by complying with legal regulations · Manage daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service
  • Oversee and manage logistics for transporting products to customers and company facilities, communicating with drivers and partners to ensure efficient delivery of packages.
  • All other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as the business demands deem necessary
  • Execute all Dangerous Goods shipments in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations (as applicable).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience as warehouse manager
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff
  • Proven track record in Customer Service-related activities
  • Ability to work in an group/team/matrix environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence at all levels of the organization, strong cultural sensitivity, and ability to build up relationships
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work in fast pace, high volume environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Flexible and positive attitude to excel in a client-driven environment, commercial awareness
  • Open to new ideas and technologies
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Native level German language skills
