Werkstudent: Performance Evaluation & Test Automation for IBM Z (f/m/x)

Your Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for a motivated working student to support us as a software developer in our IBM Z Firmware team, analyzing and optimizing system performance across different processor architectures. In this role, you will:

• Conduct performance measurements on various processor architectures
• Compare and evaluate results based on architectural differences
• Work hands‑on with Linux applications and tools
• Use both simulation platforms and real hardware for test execution
• Design, implement, and operate an automated test pipeline to streamline performance testing

This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in performance engineering, Linux‑based development, and automated test environments while working with cutting‑edge processor technologies. The employment contract comprises a 10–20‑hour workweek at IBM.

Preferred Education

Bachelor's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• Matriculation at an university in Business Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field
• System architecture knowledge
• At least one programming language
• Experience with Linux operating system
• Fluent in German / English language

• Experience with test automation
