About Blue Standard

Location: Western Europe (remote / flexible, with international travel)

Reports to: Group CEO, Blue Standard Inc.

Compensation: Competitive base salary, performance-based commission, and long-term growth incentives.

Blue Standard is an international materials and manufacturing company focused on developing innovative, more sustainable consumer products. Through our manufacturing capabilities, private-label partnerships, and proprietary consumer brands, we help businesses develop, produce, and commercialize differentiated products.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial Commercial Director to lead the next phase of our commercial expansion throughout Europe and Africa.

This is a hands-on business development and sales leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, opening markets, and creating businesses—not simply managing established accounts or teams.

The Opportunity

You will take ownership of growing Blue Standard GmbH's commercial presence, with particular emphasis on private-label manufacturing partnerships, branded-product distribution, strategic customer relationships, and omnichannel sales.

You will work closely with our US Based leadership, product development, and production teams to turn new opportunities into profitable, long-term business.

As the business grows, there is a clear opportunity to expand into broader regional general management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Private Label

Identify and develop new private-label and manufacturing opportunities with established brands, retailers, and distributors.
Build relationships with decision-makers at leading European consumer products companies.
Lead commercial discussions, proposals, negotiations, and customer onboarding.
Collaborate with internal technical and manufacturing teams to develop commercially attractive customer solutions.

Branded Products & Distribution

Expand the presence of Blue Standard's consumer brands, including BetterBone, across European and African markets.
Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with distributors, wholesalers, retail chains, and e-commerce partners.
Develop omnichannel strategies across specialty retail, mass retail, independent retail, and online marketplaces.
Establish market-by-market commercial plans and priorities.

Commercial Leadership

Build and manage a qualified international sales pipeline.
Develop revenue forecasts, customer acquisition plans, and account growth strategies.
Take direct responsibility for acquiring new customers and generating profitable sales.
Collaborate with operations, marketing, and production teams to support successful product launches and customer development.
Establish scalable commercial processes as the business grows.

Strategic Relationships

Represent Blue Standard at industry exhibitions, customer meetings, and commercial events.
Establish partnerships with influential industry participants.
Identify new markets, categories, and revenue opportunities throughout the assigned territories.

Ideal Candidate

6-15+ years of experience in international sales, business development, key account management, or commercial leadership.
Demonstrated experience generating new business and developing distribution networks.
Strong preference for experience in the pet industry, pet accessories, consumer products, or adjacent categories.
Existing relationships with European retailers, distributors, manufacturers, or major consumer brands.
Experience across multiple sales channels, including B2B, wholesale, retail, and e-commerce.
Commercially analytical, with an understanding of pricing, margins, and profitable growth.
Entrepreneurial, independent, organized, and comfortable working in a lean international organization.
Fluent English; German, French, or other European languages are highly advantageous.
Based in Western Europe and willing to travel regularly.

Why Join Blue Standard?

This is an opportunity to help build and shape the commercial future of an ambitious international business.

Rather than inheriting a large established sales organization, you will have the freedom and responsibility to develop markets, build lasting partnerships, and directly influence growth.

We offer an entrepreneurial working environment, close collaboration with company leadership, performance-based compensation, and opportunities for expanding leadership responsibility as the business scales.
