As part of our ambitious growth strategy across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), we are looking for an experienced, commercially driven Account Manager to join our Renewable Energy team at our newly established office in Munich.

This is an exciting opportunity for a renewable energy professional who enjoys building long-term customer relationships, applying technical expertise and identifying opportunities for sustainable business growth.

Working as part of a highly skilled, international and cross-functional team, you will play a key role in managing and expanding our solar energy customer base across Europe. You will work in a dynamic and rapidly developing market, helping customers overcome technical challenges and achieve improved performance from their renewable energy assets.

The Role

As an Account Manager, you will act as a trusted advisor to renewable energy developers, Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) companies, solar power plant owners and other industry partners.

Combining strong commercial awareness with technical understanding, you will support customers throughout the lifecycle of their solar projects. You will help EPCs identify and implement effective monitoring solutions during solar power plant construction, while supporting asset owners to optimise performance and maximise the value of their investments.

You will take ownership of existing customer relationships, develop new commercial opportunities and work closely with internal technical and operational teams to deliver solutions that meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and develop existing Campbell Scientific customer accounts across the renewable energy portfolio throughout Europe.
Build, maintain and strengthen long-term customer relationships to support retention, continuity and sustainable growth.
Respond to customer enquiries and identify opportunities to develop additional business within existing and new accounts.
Prepare high-quality quotations, proposals and commercial offers for measurement and monitoring solutions.
Manage, progress and successfully close opportunities within the active sales pipeline.
Work closely with technical and operational teams to ensure proposed solutions meet customer specifications and project requirements.
Maintain clear ownership and visibility of the sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and timely reporting.
Act as a trusted advisor by understanding customer objectives and aligning technical solutions with their operational and commercial needs.
Support customer engagement through technical training, customer education and the development of localised sales materials.
Identify and prioritise high-value opportunities while maintaining strong pipeline momentum and conversion.
Contribute market intelligence, customer insights and competitive information to support business planning and growth.
Represent Campbell Scientific at customer meetings, industry events, conferences and relevant trade exhibitions.
Travel regularly across Europe and occasionally internationally, with travel expected to be up to 25% of working time.

About You

You will be an experienced account management or technical sales professional with a strong understanding of the renewable energy sector.

You will be commercially focused while remaining highly customer‑centric. You will be confident discussing technical solutions, able to understand complex customer requirements and skilled at translating those requirements into practical, value‑led proposals.

You will be comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with colleagues across different countries, functions and technical disciplines.

Essential Requirements

A minimum of five years’ experience in technical sales, business development and/or account management.
Previous experience within the renewable energy sector, ideally within solar energy or utility‑scale renewable projects.
Strong commercial awareness and a proven ability to develop and maintain successful customer relationships.
The ability to understand technical products and translate customer requirements into effective solutions.
Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
A proactive, positive and solutions‑focused approach.
Experience working collaboratively within international and cross‑functional teams.
A full EU driving licence.
The ability and willingness to travel regularly across Europe and internationally.
An EU passport and/or unrestricted right to work within the European Union.
A degree‑level qualification in an environmental, engineering, scientific or related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken, with professional‑level proficiency.

Desirable Requirements

Experience working with utility‑scale solar power plants, solar resource assessment or performance monitoring systems.
A professional qualification in Sales, Business Administration, Leadership or a related discipline.
Fluency in French.
Experience working with renewable energy developers, EPC contractors, asset owners or energy service providers.
Experience managing complex technical sales cycles and high‑value commercial opportunities.
