We offer a complementary portfolio of products and services across the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors. For more than 30 years, Alphalytik has been a GMP- and FDA-certified partner to pharma and biotech companies, with expertise in stability testing, method development, and batch release analytics.

GBD Gesellschaft für Biotechnologische Diagnostik mbH (GBD) is an internationally active specialist in infectious disease diagnostics. We develop and manufacture high-quality control materials for laboratory diagnostics — a scientifically demanding and fast-moving area within virology.

As both businesses continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated Business Developer to drive commercial expansion, win new business, and increase market share across both companies.

This is a key commercial role with responsibility for driving sustainable growth across both GBD and Alphalytik. We are looking for someone who combines commercial thinking with a strong hands-on approach and enjoys building business directly in the market.

Key Responsibilities

Drive new business for Alphalytik by identifying and winning new customers in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries and positioning our GMP analytical services in national and international markets.
Grow international sales at GBD by supporting new market development and expanding our global distributor network for virological quality control products.
Identify market opportunities by tracking industry developments, analysing competitors, and spotting new areas for growth within diagnostics and life sciences.
Represent both companies externally at international trade shows, conferences, and industry events, while building strong relationships with distributors, decision-makers, and key accounts.
Own the sales cycle from prospecting and first contact through to negotiation and closing. This is a hands‑on role with a high level of autonomy and a strong focus on execution.

Your Profile

You are a commercially minded life sciences professional with a proven ability to develop business, build relationships, and deliver results.

What You Bring

A degree in life sciences, such as biology, biotechnology, medicine, or a related field, or a comparable qualification with strong technical understanding.
1-3 years of experience in sales or business development, ideally in diagnostics, life sciences services, pharma services, or a related sector.
Solid track record or strong foundation in market development and working with distributor networks.
A proactive, entrepreneurial, and hands‑on mindset. You are comfortable working independently, taking ownership, and delivering results in an agile environment with flat hierarchies.
Professional fluency in both German and English.

What We Offer

A high-impact role with real ownership and the opportunity to shape growth across two established businesses.
Long-term prospects within a successful group of companies with more than 30 years of market presence.
The freedom to actively participate in defining commercial tactics and implementing them directly.
A professional and collaborative environment with short decision‑making paths and a strong platform for success.
